Getting started with Claude
Getting started
Your computer is already set up. Here is how to start using Claude and the LKA skills.
Claude is already installed and signed in on your LKA computer, and the LKA skills are ready to use. There is nothing to install. This page shows you how to start.
How you will use Claude
- The Claude app for questions, writing, and thinking things through.
- Claude Code, which you open inside the Claude app under the Code tab, to run the LKA skills (render, caption, and the rest).
You do not need to use the terminal. The only time you touch it is when setting up a brand new computer or installing plugin updates. Day to day, everything happens in the app.
Running a skill
Skills run through Claude Code, inside the app:
- Open the Claude app and go to the Code tab.
- Choose the folder you want to work in. For most skills this is the project's Export folder (where your model exports and images are).
- When Claude asks, allow it to work in that folder.
- Start the skill by asking in plain language or with its command, for example:
render this screenshot
The skill then asks you a few short questions (things like resolution or camera move) and does the rest. Every skill has its own page in the Skills library with what to say and what it will ask.
Good habits
- Be specific about what you want out.
- Point Claude at the file or image you mean (paste the file path, or paste the image).
Getting help
Feeling unsure at the start is normal. If you get stuck, ask Claude. It can explain what a step means, what an error is telling you, and what to try next.
Setting up a brand new computer is covered separately in Setting up a new computer. Most people never need it.
